Baby pink or Hot pink?
A pale, quiet pink, far lighter and softer than hot pink.
Pink for girls is recent. In 1918 a trade paper called pink the stronger color, better for boys; the rule settled only in the mid-1900s.
Culture
Baby pink belongs to the nursery rule that girls wear pink. The rule is younger than it looks: early-1900s advice columns disagreed about which color suited which sex, and pink for girls only became standard in the mid-20th century. See pink-and-blue.
Kin
